Jacobs sets foot on track

Marcel Jacobs is set to take the stage in men’s 60m race at the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

The Olympic champion who trailed behind Samuele Ceccarelli by 0.01 seconds with a time of 6.55 in the Italian National Indoor Championships will take to the track for title defense. Ceccarelli stands as his biggest rival in this quest. 23-year-old sprinter who had recorded a personal best of 6.72 earlier this season improved this mark by 0.18 seconds during the national championships in Ancona. Israel Olatunde, who won the Irish Indoor Championships, as well as Britain’s Reece Prescod and Jeremiah Azu will be in the mix for the medal hunt.
