ATAKÖY ARENA
The Ataköy Arena was opened in 2011 and is located in the Istanbul suburbs in the Bakırköy municipality on the European (western) side of the city.
The dedicated athletics facilitate – which is easily reachable by the Istanbul metro system – is next to the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall which will be used as a training/warm up facility. The Turkish National Olympic Committee headquarters is also located in same site, only 200 metres from the competition venue.
The recently refurbished Arena has a six-lane track and an eight-line straight for sprints and hurdles, more than 5000 seats for spectators and an additional 2000 seats for VIPs, media, teams, coaches, and officials.
