Startlists & Results – Everything You Need from Istanbul 2023

If you’ve been following the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships, you already know this wasn’t just another competition. Istanbul delivered something special – world records, surprise winners, home heroes, and crowds that made the Ataköy Athletics Arena feel electric from the very first heat.

But behind every great championship, there’s a mountain of paperwork that most fans never think about. Entry standards, final entry lists, start lists, heat draws, results sheets – the kind of stuff that athletes, coaches, journalists and stats obsessives live and breathe. Here’s where to find all of it.

Entry Standards & Final Entries

Before a single gun fires, months of qualification happen behind the scenes. Athletes across Europe chase the entry standards set by European Athletics, fighting for their place on the start list at Istanbul 2023.

The final entry lists reflect who made it through that process – the best 400m runners, pole vaulters, triple jumpers and middle-distance stars the continent had to offer. Femke Bol was on the entry list. So was Armand Duplantis. So were dozens of other athletes who went on to write history in Istanbul.

Start Lists – Who Ran in Which Heat and When

Start lists are where the anticipation really builds. You scan the lanes, check who’s been drawn alongside whom, and start doing the mental calculations.

At Istanbul 2023, those calculations got complicated fast. Karsten Warholm found himself battling through the semi-finalsJakob Ingebrigtsen lined up for a bold double in the 1500m and 3000m, and Nafi Thiam entered the pentathlonchasing her third consecutive European indoor title.

Start lists for all events – from the 60m heats to the field event qualifying rounds – are available in the attached files below.

Daily Results – What Actually Happened

Results tell the story after the dust settles. And at Istanbul 2023, the results pages were unlike anything we’d seen at a European indoor championship before.

Nafi Thiam broke the world record in the pentathlon. Femke Bol clocked an almost incomprehensible 49.26 in the 400m – a run that science is still trying to fully explainDuplantis cleared a new world record height in the pole vault. Miltiadis Tentoglou made history in the long jump.

And then there were the surprises. Samuele Ceccarelli in the men’s 60mReetta Hurske’s historic goldDina Asher-Smith’s astonishing run. Moments that weren’t in the script but ended up being the ones people remember most.

Daily results from all three competition days are included in the attached files.
