Astonishing run from Dina

Britain’s highly-decorated sprinter Dina Asher-Smith clocked a time of 7.04 during her win at the World Indoor Tour in Karlsruhe, Germany.


The 27-year-old World and European gold medallist Dina Asher-Smith showed a superb form in the season beginning. She clocked 7.04 in Karlsruhe’s Messehalle, eclipsing the 7.06 British NR owned by Asha Philip since 2017. However, despite her terrific season start, she wasn’t clearly confirm whether compete or not in European Indoors in the presser.

In Karlsruhe, European champion Ivana Vuleta confirmed her well preperation off the start. The glamour Serbian star jumped 6.76 in Karlsruhe to take top spot, also changed the world lead with the effort by one centimetre. Swedish jumper Khaddi Sagnia is standing second in the world list after Vuleta, with her 6.75 effort at the local competition in Sweden. 

In men’s sprint hurdling final, two Spanish hurdlers came together at the finish line. Last year’s World medallist Asier Martinez and fellow countryman Enrique Llopis clocked identical time in the end: 7.57. But in the photo-finish detail, Llopis edged his rival by just 0.002 seconds. Earlier in the evening, Polish hurdler Jakub Szymanski and France’s Just Kwaou-Mathey both ran best times of 7.57 to win their respective heats.
