Karsten Warholm and Oscar Husillos booked their place in men’s 400m semi-finals, following the qualification heats.
In the morning session of European Athletics Indoor Championships’ second day, the titlists of the last two editions in men’s 400m advanced to the semi-finals.
Warholm, running in the first heat, recorded the fastest time of the qualifications with 45.75. Oscar Husillos, coming in second with 46.28 behind Matej Krsek who clocked 46.23 also made it to the semi-finals.
Belgian Julian Watrin recorded a season best with 46.41 as he led his qualification heat. Joao Coelho, en route to breaking the Portuguese national record with 46.51, improved his personal best mark by 0.14 seconds, the previous of which also came this season.
